Profile Summary

As a member of Voya's Retirement RFP Team, the RFP Specialist is responsible for the assessment, planning and on-time completion of assigned request for proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) projects, consultant questionnaires, and other information requests as assigned. The RFP Specialist completes these projects in accordance with client / prospect requirements and company standards to help the company win business.

Profile Description

  • Assess incoming requests for proposal documents to develop answer strategies, plan subject matter resource needs, schedule production requirements, and execute project requirements, while achieving satisfactory advancement rate.
  • Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines of varying complexity in accordance with the scope and timelines of the proposal.
  • Ability to work on proposals across all market segments (e.g., Small-Mid Corporate, Tax Exempt, Government, Large Corporate Markets, Defined Benefit (DB), and Non-Qualified (NQ)).
  • Use proposal automation and company optimization tools to log, complete and track projects and documents.
  • Use web-based proposal automation tools (e.g., RPAG, Envestnet, InHub, RFP360, etc.) to complete online proposals.
  • Research answers using collaboration through proposal automation software.
  • Identify and coordinate with subject matter experts (SMEs), such as Senior Management, Legal, IT, Product, Plan Administration, Implementation, Investments; send requests for answers, conduct research, and incorporate responses into proposals.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Sales, and other departments to ensure all related project components are completed.
  • Write new answers, as needed, translating highly technical information in clear, concise language for capture into our centralized proposal automation content library.
  • Communicate value propositions through strong and differentiating messages.
  • Perform formatting, proofreading, and editing of proposals to ensure final deliverables are of exceptional quality and comply with company branding standards.
  • Manage proposal print configuration setup, as required, and schedule electronic file transmission for delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate and be an advocate in the development and usage of best practice standards.
  • Participate in regular reviews of proposal content and supporting materials and work with identified content owners to ensure the accuracy of information retained in the proposal content library.
  • Senior writers will be called upon for mentoring RFP Specialists.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years' RFP Writing experience
  • Effective planning and problem-solving skills
  • Strong research, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Self-starter, able to prioritize and manage work priorities
  • Ability to work with a wide range of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), including functional and technical experts
  • Experience with Responsive (formerly RFPIO) proposal automation a plus
  • Advanced understanding of Retirement Services
  • Previous experience managing multiple complex projects under tight deadlines with many stakeholders preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge with Office 365 tools a plus (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Planner)

    Compensation and Benefits

    Compensation Pay Disclosure : Voya is committed to pay that's fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

    The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and / or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate's geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and / or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

    $70,000 - $95,000
