Must-Have : Oncology experience required; Travel experience highly preferred; Epic experience preferred

Description :

The medical oncology unit will consist of patients with a cancer diagnosis, medical step-down patients, and general medical overflow.

This position requires basic knowledge of the pathophysiology of cancer.

The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients on the unit.

Regularly assess patients' needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician's authorized plan of care and accepted standards of nursing practice.

Provide direct patient care, including nursing assessment, medication administration, treatments, call lights, assisting with transfers, and responding to alarms.

Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and patients' conditions to make suggestions and participate in updating and revising treatment plans in collaboration with other team members.

Utilize current information and assessments to improve patient care.

Process physician / provider orders and perform physician-ordered care accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.

Follow up regarding medication changes and order clarifications.
