Job Title
This is a Part-time position in the Hattiesburg Contact Center. Will take unemployment claims, identify eligibility issues, audit work research activity, provide customers with information on unemployment claims, provide online support, and perform other unemployment insurance eligibility-related duties as assigned by management. Will investigate claims for proper payment, unreported earnings, and current work status. Contact employers and claimants to obtain requested wage information for prompt and accurate determination and eligibility decisions. Will assist customers with improper payment recovery, overpayment inquiries, and other related issues. Will carry out various support functions related to Integrity and Benefit Payment control processes. Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, if needed. All potential applicants are required to have a valid driver's license and pass an extensive background check.
Ability to interpret and apply MDES laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Effective communication skills, verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others. Ability to effectively adapt to changing work duties and processes. Must be highly detail-oriented and possess outstanding computer and time management skills.
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 0-2 years of experience OR an Associate's Degree and 2-3 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications : Bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university and two (2) years of professional / administrative experience in work related to the described duties. Bilingual (Spanish) candidates are preferred.
