Overview
Senior Field Engineer position at Yorktel. The role involves installing, commissioning, and managing the technical aspects of large-scale commercial networked Audio / Visual Presentation and Videoconferencing systems. The role typically works within a project team with varying responsibilities, expertise and influence.
Responsibilities
- Communicate to stakeholders, client, site and / or project-specific issues, make recommendations to the PMO, and ensure agreed-upon resolution of issues.
- Regularly communicate answers to complex questions and respond to detailed inquiries regarding technical issues and resolutions.
- Protect all internal and external confidential information and utilize discretion and judgment per company policies and procedures.
- Provide daily technical and site-specific information to the project team in a comprehensive, thorough and detailed manner.
- Document customer requirements and job site conditions through daily client interactions.
- Provide post-installation documentation (red-lined drawings, network information, MAC addresses, etc.) to Project Management.
- Collaborate effectively with other members of the engineering team.
- Maintain complete and accurate project documentation and records.
- Communicate with internal staff, client representatives, cooperative trades and subcontractors.
- Oversee subcontractors and other installation engineers on a daily basis.
- Complete assignments on time and within budget; communicate to the project team if budget or timeline is at risk.
- Conform to company technical standards and practices.
- Interpret multiple formats of technical specifications, schematic drawings and architectural diagrams.
- Adhere to Yorktel policies and procedures.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Technical Job Responsibilities
Lead installation, replacement and / or configuration of integrated system components, networked Video Conferencing Codecs, networked A / V control systems and networked Audio DSP devices.Test and commission final installation prior to client handover, including setup, calibration and operation of DSP-based audiovisual components and networked AV control systems.Daily communication with the Project Management Team regarding project status and issues that may impact timely completion.Audio system calibration, including Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) and RF systems.Display calibration for color, EDID and related parameters.Provide hands-on client training upon project completion.Ensure Customer Acceptance Form is signed and returned to Project Management upon client sign-off.Ensure all red-lined engineering drawings are completed and returned.Provide post-installation support during transition to Yorktel tech services.All other duties as assigned.Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of video / audio conferencing service standards.Knowledge of audiovisual, videoconferencing and IT products and applications.Professionalism, integrity and teamwork.Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.Proficient in computers and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Project, Excel, Word).Education & Experience
5 years of experience in Network, Audiovisual and / or video conferencing system integration.College degree or military technical college graduate or equivalent.Polycom / Tandberg / Cisco certified Videoconference Engineer (TCE / CVE) certification desirable.Audio DSP (Polycom, ClearOne, BiAmp) certifications desirable.AVIXA CTS certification with Advanced CTS-I; CompTIA Network or CCNA certifications desirable.Proficiency in video / audio / control network infrastructure to support commissioning and other technical processes.Additional Qualifications
