Description :

This position is for a seasonal travel RN specializing in Med Surg / Neuro.

The unit has 38 beds and a staff of 55.

The day shift consists of 2 charge nurses (without patients) and a 4-5 : 1 RN ratio, with 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCT).

The night shift has 1-2 charge nurses (depending on staffing), a 4-5 : 1 RN ratio, and 2 PCTs.

Patient ratios currently call for 4 : 1, with some shifts running 5 : 1 due to staffing challenges.

The unit utilizes various equipment, including IV pumps, seizure monitoring devices, Bi-PAP, and C-PAP machines (mostly at night), as well as glucometers.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system is Meditech.

Candidates should possess skills in NIH / stroke assessments and neuro assessments.

Additional competencies include fall risk assessment, tracheostomy care, and managing feeding tubes.

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about the neuro patient population and hopefully have experience in this area.

Candidates must be able to multitask and work effectively as team players.

Strong critical thinking skills, the ability to take initiative, flexibility, and engagement in patient experience tactics are essential for success in this role.
