The Accounting Supervisor works closely with the Sr VP Finance Operations and Administration to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting across corporate, operational, and commercial property management functions. This role is responsible for managing consolidated financial statements, tax preparation coordination, operational budgeting, and accounting oversight for fee-managed accounts. The Accounting Supervisor will supervise and support the property management accounting staff, maintain consistent accounting policies, and support operational planning and execution. A successful Accounting Supervisor demonstrates strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex financial data with minimal supervision. They will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, collaborate effectively across departments, and uphold the company's standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service
Qualifications & Experience :
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration preferred
- Experience in real estate or property management accounting is strongly preferred (2-4 years)
- Familiarity with consolidated financial reporting, tax coordination, and budgeting processes is essential
- Customer service orientation - excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities
- Proven property technical, management and administrative skills
- Ability to organize and plan and to multi-task
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Tasks : Departmental :
Prepare and understand monthly and annual Corporate Financial StatementsPrepare quarterly tax estimates and coordinate return preparation with outside accounting firmEstablish and maintain baseline information / reporting requirements for company-wide planningPrepare and maintain allocation process for support servicesProvide management, financial, operational, and analytical guidance and support to the operations management teamSupport efforts to reduce costs and streamline processes.Assist in preparing annual corporate budgetsMaintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standardsSupervise and train the operations accounting staff. Monitor and evaluate their performance, providing input on personnel actions such as performance reviews.Develop and maintain guidelines and procedures for the departmentAssist with administration of Property Management and Accounting SoftwareHandle all aspects of accounting and review for fee-managed propertiesSupervision :
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
