Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a MA RN license and strong post-anesthesia care skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) of a hospital
  • Patient population consists of individuals recovering from anesthesia following surgery
  • 10-hour evening shifts with one weeknight on-call shift from 11p-7a in addition to a standard 40-hour work week
  • Primary responsibilities include monitoring and caring for patients post-surgery, assessing vital signs, managing pain, ensuring airway management, administering medications, updating patient records, and providing patient and family education for post-op care
  • Collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other care team members
  • Responsible for addressing potential complications and providing emotional support to patients
  • All candidates must pass Tele / ECG and medication testing as part of the clinical onboarding process

  • Active MA RN license in hand
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience required
  • Must not have been employed in any capacity at the affiliated health system within the last 6 months
  • COVID vaccine, booster, and flu vaccination required (medical exemptions allowed)
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
