Overview
We are seeking a visionary AI Architect to lead the design and strategic direction of AI-driven solutions across the Finance technology team. This role is responsible for translating business goals into AI strategies, designing scalable architectures, and guiding cross-functional teams through implementation. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in AI / ML with strong strategic and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the AI architecture roadmap in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Design end-to-end AI and machine learning system architectures, including data pipelines, model training / inference environments, and model governance frameworks.
- Evaluate and select appropriate AI technologies, frameworks, and platforms.
- Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to architect scalable and reusable AI solutions.
- Establish best practices for model lifecycle management, performance monitoring, explainability, and ethical AI.
- Lead technical assessments of AI initiatives, identifying risks, trade-offs, and performance considerations.
- Stay abreast of emerging AI trends and evaluate their applicability to business challenges.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or AI engineering, with 4+ years in an architectural or leadership role.Strong proficiency in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), programming languages (Python, Java, etc.), and cloud AI services (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP Vertex AI).Experience with MLOps, data pipelines, and real-time inference systems.Solid understanding of data governance, model risk management, and responsible AI principles.Proven ability to communicate complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.Experience with GenAI (e.g., LLMs, transformers) and prompt engineering.Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native architecture.Background in financial services, healthcare, or other regulated industries.We offer

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Jersey City NJ is $125k - $135k / year & benefits (see below).
