The Part-Time Continuing Education Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor for Continuing Education is responsible for teaching non-credit CNA courses with a prescribed curriculum to individuals pursuing the CNA Industry Certification examnter the job summary from the job description.
What you will be doing
- Instructs students in both theory and practice of CNA theory and clinical components
- Ensures course objectives and outcomes are accomplished and students receive passing grades on theoretical examinations
- Provides direct supervision and student evaluation in the classroom and in clinical experiences
- Maintains accurate attendance records
- Develops teaching and learning strategies that optimize student performance
- Participates in curriculum, technology and textbook committees
- Complies with department and College policies and procedures
- Participates in the planning of each learning experience
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
Minimum of one (1) year or more of clinical experience and completed a course on teaching adult learners; or minimum of one (1) year or more of clinical experience and at least one (1) year of experience in teaching adult learners; or minimum of one (1) year or more of clinical experience and one (1) year of experience supervising nursing assistantsActive and clear Florida license to practice either practical nursing or professional nursingKnowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, policies and procedures and programsKnowledge of teaching adult learnersKnowledge of CNA theoryExcellent communication (both oral and written) skillsAbility to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staffAdditional Requirements
