Junior Financial Services Associate Attorney – Nashville, TN
Location : Nashville, TN
Direct Counsel is seeking a Junior Financial Services Associate to join a nationally recognized law firm with a strong and growing finance practice in Nashville. This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated associate to gain hands-on experience within a close-knit team that offers meaningful mentorship, collaborative deal work, and long-term career growth.
The firm’s Financial Services Group represents a broad range of clients—including banks, financial institutions, and corporate borrowers—in complex commercial finance matters across a wide array of industries. The incoming associate will immediately contribute to active deals and work closely with partners and senior attorneys on a variety of financing transactions.
Responsibilities :
Represent lenders and borrowers in the structuring, documentation, negotiation, and closing of a variety of finance transactions, including :
Asset-based lending
Real estate-secured loans
Cash flow lending
Draft, review, and revise credit agreements, loan documents, security agreements, and related legal instruments
Support due diligence reviews and coordinate closings
Collaborate with attorneys across the firm’s business, real estate, and financial services groups
Maintain direct client interaction and participate in strategy discussions
Qualifications :
JD from an accredited law school and admission to (or eligibility to waive into) the Tennessee Bar
Approximately 2–3 years of legal experience with a focus on finance transactions
Prior experience representing financial institutions or borrowers in commercial lending matters
Strong drafting and communication skills
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple matters simultaneously
A team player who is intellectually curious and driven to grow professionally
Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Nashville, TN area prior to start
