Job Description

Care Career is seeking a travel nurse RN Intermediate Care Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Job Description & Requirements

  • Duration : 13 weeks
  • 36 hours per week
  • Shift : 12 hours, days, nights
  • Employment Type : Travel

Requirements (Mandatory) :

  • Active RN License in state of assignment or compact license
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Intermediate Care / Stepdown (IMC / PCU)
  • EPIC experience (required for all travelers, especially first-time travelers)
  • Certifications :

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – AHA
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • Comfortable with :

    • MedSurg-level patient assignments

  • Drip titration : Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Levophed (≤5 mcg), and others
  • Reading / interpreting cardiac strips
  • Chest tubes, trach care (excluding fresh trachs), NGT, JP drains, wound care, blood transfusions, TPN / tube feeding
  • Must live 100+ miles away from any facility in the health system
  • Completion of a nursing program approved by a board of nursing
  • Registered Nurse license must be in good standing
