Position Summary
This role is ideal for a mid-level attorney who thrives in civil litigation and has the ability to lead their own caseload. The position is 80% litigation and 20% general counsel compliance, with exposure to single-plaintiff cases, PAGA claims, and class action defense. Youll act as both a strategic legal partner and an active litigator, handling matters from intake to resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with business units to prevent, navigate, and resolve complex employment law issues.
- Manage and lead employment litigation matters including single-plaintiff, PAGA, and class action cases.
- Conduct legal research and communicate risk and resolution strategies clearly to clients.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, and motions.
- Represent clients in depositions, mediations, and court proceedings.
- Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel while protecting business interests.
- Advise on compliance matters such as wage and hour, leave laws, and workplace investigations.
- Collaborate with internal departments and provide training or policy guidance when needed.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Licensed to practice in California and in good standing.4+ years of civil litigation experience, with an emphasis on employment law (defense-side preferred).Experience with PAGA, class action, and single-plaintiff defense required.Demonstrated ability to develop case strategies and handle matters independently.Organized, punctual, detail-oriented, and proactive.Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required.
