Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with a current NY license and Epic EMR experience for a high-acuity emergency department role.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department
  • Patient ratios are 1 : 5 with mixed and shared acuity levels
  • Evening shift, working 3x12-hour shifts from 15 : 00 to 03 : 00
  • Float to other units required as census warrants
  • Every other weekend is required
  • Epic EMR is used and experience is required
  • Scrub colors are any combination of navy and white
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Minimal requested time off is permitted
  • Team manages both adult and pediatric emergency cases
  • Return staff must have at least a 1-year break before returning
  • Completion of pre-start modules is required and may take up to 10 hours
  • Holiday coverage may be required
  • Call-off policy is a maximum of 3 shifts per 13-week assignment
  • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active NY RN license required at the time of consideration
  • Minimum of 1 year recent ER RN experience
  • Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
  • Experience with Epic EMR is required
  • Strong skills in emergency care, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction / failure management, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IVs, continuous IV paralytics and sedation, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, CVA and isolation precautions
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
