Overview
Terracon's South Central Region (KS / MO) is looking to add a Civil / Environmental Project Engineer to work out of one of the regional offices (Lenexa, Manhattan, Topeka, or Wichita, Kansas; Columbia or St. Louis, Missouri).
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of environmental projects and clients.
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates; track and evaluate project progress and budgets; provide recommendations.
- Apply sound engineering principles and communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams.
- Produce a quality product by performing quality control checks and ensuring consistent quality standards on all projects and proposals.
- Manage mid- to large-sized projects.
- Maintain excellent communication with clients and your manager to keep them informed on project status.
- Prepare proposals and reports for projects of varying complexity; perform quality control reviews of proposals authored by others.
- Evaluate complex laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports.
- Serve as a technical adviser to junior-level project team members.
- Interact directly with the client and project team on the development of the scope of services, as well as communicating project progress, findings, and recommendations.
- Author and prepare routine and complex engineering reports detailing services provided, findings, and recommendations.
- Participate in marketing and business development and adhere to Terracon's client experience standards.
- Supervise graduate, field and project engineering staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.Minimum 5-8 years' experience.Professional Engineer (PE) registration for Kansas and / or Missouri or ability to obtain PE through reciprocity.Understanding of state environmental regulations.40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (preferred).Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.About Terracon
