What You Will Do :
As a Senior Municipal Engineering Project Manager, your primary role would be overseeing and managing various engineering projects within a municipal setting. Your responsibilities include :
- Managing all aspects of multi-discipline projects from proposal to project closeout.
- Planning, directing, and coordinating activities including client meetings, public hearings, and public involvement events to ensure projects progress within time and budget constraints.
- Anticipating client needs and tailoring communication and output accordingly.
- Leading a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff, assigning tasks, guiding, and monitoring progress across locations.
- Working directly with municipal staff to deliver CIP programs and projects, possibly on-site in a staff augmentation setting.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with municipal clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring project requirements are met.
- Ensuring projects comply with municipal codes, regulations, and environmental standards.
- Developing project budgets, allocating resources, and monitoring expenditures for cost control.
- Maintaining open communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, and resolving issues during project execution.
- Overseeing contract negotiations, reviewing contractor performance, and ensuring contractual compliance.
- Preparing or coordinating project and client correspondence and documentation.
- Leading business development activities through client meetings and networking events.
- Identifying process improvement opportunities, implementing best practices, and promoting innovation.
- Understanding and securing funding sources for municipal projects.
What You Will Bring :
The successful candidate must have :
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.Professional engineer registration or the ability to obtain it within six months.10+ years of municipal experience; direct municipal experience is a plus.Experience managing municipal CIP programs, projects, clients, and staff.Proven track record in delivering projects with positive customer service.A positive attitude and willingness to learn.An understanding of client needs and the ability to anticipate them is a plus.Who We Are :
