Key Job Details – CVOR RN Travel Contract

Location : Peoria, Illinois 61637

Healthcare Setting : Acute Care – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Employment Type : Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (October 5, 2025 – January 4, 2026)

Nursing Shifts : Four 10-hour day shifts / week (Monday–Friday, 6 : 30am–5 : 00pm)

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Call Requirements : Every 3rd weeknight and weekend; holidays may be included

Charting System : Epic EMR

CVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Illinois RN license (or proof of application in progress)

BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of primary circulating experience in complex open heart procedures

Proven experience with cardiothoracic and vascular cases : CABG, valve repair / replacement, aortic dissections, ECMO, VAD implants, TAVR, carotid endarterectomy, peripheral vascular bypasses, traumas, thoracic cases, tracheostomy

Ability to float within the department of surgery as needed

Negative drug screen required

Congenital pediatric open heart experience preferred

CVOR RN Responsibilities

Circulate complex open heart and vascular procedures in a busy CVOR (2–3 suites, 1–3 cases / day)

Review patient charts, conduct H&P, interview patients pre-op, and transport to OR

Assist anesthesia during induction, position and prep patients, dispense sterile items, and chart in Epic EMR

Provide call report to receiving unit and transport patient out of OR

Verify intra-op orders and assist anesthesia with IV infusions using Alaris IV pumps

Precept new staff and participate in department orientation

Adhere to surgical dress code (scrubs provided)
