American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring cardiac and respiratory critical care skills and an active IL license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital intensive care unit (ICU) with 20 bedsPatient ratio is 1 : 2 in the ICUCare for cardiac, CVICU, renal failure, and stroke patients in a Level II Trauma CenterNight shift schedule from 18 : 00 to 06 : 30, three 12-hour shifts per weekEvery other weekend is requiredNo on-call requirementsFloating required within scope to other units or affiliate hospitals as neededUses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience preferredPrimary duties include delivering comprehensive critical care to ICU patients with complex cardiac, renal, and respiratory needsRoyal blue scrubs are required for this positionFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyExpect to work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the contractRTO (time off) of up to 5 days is allowed; more requires manager approvalParking permit is provided at no cost and must be arranged during orientationBackground check approval may be required prior to offerLab appointments, badge photos, and modules must be completed prior to or at the start of the assignment\n \n Requirements\n
Active IL RN license required at time of applicationMinimum 2 years ICU RN experience with cardiac critical care or CVICU experienceCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, NIH (AHA or Red Cross only, RQI not accepted)Experience in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12 lead EKGPre- and post-cardiac cath / intervention skills and chronic / acute renal failure experience requiredIV therapy skills including arterial line, central / PICC line management, starting IVs, and blood product administrationEmergency medication administration, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation experience requiredExperience with CVA / acute stroke management and respiratory interventions including ventilator care, BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretationInfection prevention, isolation precautions, PPE use, and rapid response / code blue experience requiredMust not have been a permanent or PRN employee of Memorial within the past 12 months\n Benefits\n
