Production Superintendent
The Production Superintendent helps ensure that the Plant's Production runs safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard of quality by managing the day-to-day production and operational activities while maintaining a safe work environment and meeting production requirements with a quality product.
Responsibilities
- Makes recommendations as part of a full range of supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training, scheduling of work, grievances, performance counseling, and recommendations for promotions, demotions, and termination of employment.
- Ensures that all relevant Human Resources and HSE policies and procedures are followed and adhered to.
- Engage in proactive communication with supervisory team and production personnel.
- Ensure all quality testing is performed and that all production meets quality specifications for products produced and shipped.
- Coordinate with Production Manager to develop long- and short-term plans to plant objectives.
- Prepare and maintain daily and weekly production reporting as assigned.
- Initiate corrective action when necessary to improve or maintain efficient operations, and communicate process malfunctions or irregularities or potential problems to the attention of Management.
- Operate machinery used in the production processes, or assist machine operators.
- Ability to follow direction and complete tasks in a timely manner with or without close supervision.
- Learn the Quality Control / Assurance program, testing processes, and requirements for plant maintenance and key areas to regularly inspect for high wear and problematic failures.
- Ability to assist maintenance technicians in performing routine maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure safe work operations; may assist in enforcement of safety & health rules and environmental compliance.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Other Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required.Three (3) or more years' experience working sand plant.One (1) or more years' experience with supervising, coordinating, managing, and training production personnel.Mental and Physical Requirements
Able to read, speak and write English.Frequently required to Lift / Carry or Push / Pull 75 lbs.Work performed in a plant environment. Exposure to inclement weather as most work will be performed outside.Comply with and enforce Company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policy.Auditory and fall protection applicable when required.Sensitive to confidential information.Must work independently and as a member of a team.
