Job Summary
This position is responsible for the design, development, and verification of custom electrical assemblies and interconnect. The Senior Electrical Engineer provides full-stack development of mixed signal PCBs, embedded systems, power conversion, and related technologies, as well as chassis and interface wiring design. In addition, the Senior Electrical Engineer supports junior and peer senior staff through peer reviews, mentoring, and leadership of small project groups.
Essential Functions
- Architect, design, document and troubleshoot custom electrical assemblies in accordance with internal and external customer requirements.
- Maintain extensive working knowledge of Crystal Group's electrical design tools for efficient conversion of technical requirements into schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, and assembly drawings.
- Review electrical drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
- Assist the Systems Engineering team in researching, designing, and evaluating systems and / or processes to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure designs are producible and error free.
- Provide advanced component-level review and in-depth electrical troubleshooting support for production line builds and customer returns.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of drawing and design standards.
- Utilize engineering theory and simulation models to assess feasibility, sustainability, and operating condition effects.
- Direct or coordinate electrical manufacturing and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.
- Compile data and write reports in support of electrical engineering studies and projects.
- Design electrical test procedures and / or fixtures for factory programming and testing of products.... etc
Required Qualifications
Must be a US Person (US Citizen, person granted US Permanent Resident Card or any individual who is granted status as a "protected person").
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering field and 5+ years of Electrical Engineering experience or at least 15 years of documented Electrical Engineering / Design experience in lieu of a degree.Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of printed circuit board layout experience.5+ years of electrical component building experience.5+ years of CAD software related work.Extensive knowledge of computer equipment (PC, firewall, switch, data acquisition systems, UPS, server rack equipment, etc.).Extensive knowledge of advanced testing equipment (spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, bit error rate testers, frequency response analyzers, etc).1+ year of leadership experience.Knowledge of embedded systems firmware design constraints and best practices.Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Occasional exposure to manufacturing floor and testing environments. May require lifting up to 25 lbs, standing for extended periods during product testing.
