Summary
Mig welder using .045 & .052 bare wire. Completely weld up all containers after they have been tacked together. Weld around all side post, weld all stitches from tack to tack with no holes, around all end caps and the corner wraps, Double weld all hinges. Inside of containers are to solid weld and not to leak. We do a lot of sealed containers and these must be sealed. This position is a 2 – 3 person position and you must work together.
Essential Job Function :
- Must have the know how to operate a mig welder and adjust it to your liking.
- Must be able to weld in multiple position
(such as standing, kneeling & stretching / bent across the table)
Must be able to lift & carry up to 60 #Must be able to climb into and out of containers using a ladder.Must be able to read a tape measure for lay out purpose.Must be able to lay welds in multiple positions (such as downs, flats& overhead).Must be able to use a plasma cutter.Must be able to operate over head crane.Know the difference between ¼” and 7 Ga. 10 Ga. and 12 Ga.Weld from tack to tack and leave no holes, weld as a down on side sheet to post.Weld around each side post with no holes to the floor.Weld hinges with double pass.Weld end caps and corner wraps.Solid weld inside of container from top rail down.If it is a sealed container you must weld it so there are no leaks.Open tailgate adjust and plasma cut the door pins into the tube on gate making sure they go thru both sides of tube.Tack in pins then weld in solid along with door fork.Grind all excess welds and end caps.Double-check all your welds and schedules to make sure everything is on the container.Move container down the line to clean up then get next container and start over.The finish weld time on any standard container should be within 1 hour.Must have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.Finish Weld Responsibilities
Attend the production meetings.Read and understand the production schedules.Ask questions if you don’t understand.Complete this task within 1 hour on standard containers.Weld a sealed container without any leaks.Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and / or Experience
Must be able to pass welding test.Must have knowledge of fabricating.Must be able to read a tape measure.Language Skills

Anyone operating a Fork-Truck is required to be certified and must be tested by a person that is licensed to give the test.Anyone working on anything related to LOTO (lock out tag out) must have a certificate related to that project.Physical Demands

The following list of items must be worn in the shop at all times :Safety Glasses, earplugs, steel toe boots with metatarsals, long sleeve shirt.
Only if you are working outside in the winter you are permitted to wear boots for winter.
Weekdays, 10 hour shifts
