About the Role :
As an IT Staff Auditor , you will assess IT risk and controls throughout the Company through diverse financial, operational, and technology related internal audit projects. You will assist with IT general control testing supporting the Company's financial statement audits and through various risk focused internal audit projects to assess cloud-based IT systems and processes, including impact to business processes, by interviewing management and reviewing process documentation to identify and assess IT system and process gaps and mitigating controls in compliance with the International Professional Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and other standards of internal control. This position works with all areas of the organization and all levels of management. The IT Staff Auditor position reports to the Assistant Vice President, Deputy Chief Auditor and can be based out of our office in Topeka or Overland Park, Kansas, or Des Moines, Iowa for the right candidate. We work a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site.
As assigned, assist in assessing IT risk and determining audit scoping, objectives, and procedures to be performed over various technologies utilized by the Company and various IT functionsAssist in assessing both the design and operating effectiveness of IT general controls and application controlsPerform and document various audit tests, analyses, and conclusions in accordance with audit programsEnsure work papers and other documentation are complete, appropriate, and in support of audit procedures conducted and plannedCoordinate audit efforts with the external auditors to ensure adequate and aligned audit coverageProvide consultation to management regarding risk and the improvement of processes and controlsGenerate ideas, research, and evaluate risks related to processes and technology and recommend improvementsWhat We're Looking For :
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related degree preferredPreferred 1-2 years of Audit experience (either external or internal)Preferred progress toward professional designation (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA)Demonstrate technical knowledge / skills and understanding of information processing system risks and IT general controlsAble to work independently and identify and set priorities to meet deadlinesAble to make decisions and communicate verbally and in written format effectively with all levels of managementHave strong proven leadership, analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and organizational skillsPrioritize learning and be willing to enhance technical and soft skills through self-directed education developmentBe a collaborative team player who possesses good interpersonal skillsWhy Choose Security Benefit?
