POSITION TITLE : Clinical Crisis Manager
REPORTS TO : Director of Behavioral Health
DIRECT REPORTS : Will supervise Administrative Crisis Manager, Crisis Case Manager and Clinical Liaison positions on the Mobile Crisis Response team.
FLSA STATUS : Exempt; regular full-time; employment-at-will position.
SCHEDULE : The work schedule will generally conform to that of a full-time Monday-Friday 40-hour-per-week schedule to be performed within the Center’s hours of operation. Some after-hours on-call work is required.
PURPOSE : The Clinical Crisis Manager is responsible for leading the crisis team and providing oversight in the delivery of all crisis services. The Clinical Crisis Manager will provide direct crisis services to youths / families / adults 50% of the time and will conduct coordination of care to stabilize individuals / families in crisis.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Coordinate and monitor Crisis Case Managers and Clinical Liaisons daily duties in accordance with KDADS Mobile Crisis Response practice standard. Ensure Crisis team’s appropriate response to phone calls from individuals / families in crisis and collection of basic risk and environmental information in a professional, calm, and positive manner.
- Supervision and support of Crisis Case Managers and Crisis Liaisons involved in the delivery of crisis services.
- Supervision and support of the Administrative Crisis Manager to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate data collection and reporting of all crisis services.
- Utilize a “just go” approach in response to individuals / families in crisis with a goal to help the MCR team increase in-person encounters and to meet or exceed KDADS’ 2-hour response standard.
- Ensure client care is coordinated through effective communication with community partners and the Kanza team including hospitals, emergency departments, primary care physicians, law enforcement, and school personnel to ensure whole person care.
- Ensure appropriate follow up for each Mobile Crisis Response including both 72-hour and 2-week follow up is delivered and documented.
- Provide urgent / emergent mobile crisis response services : This includes intakes, crisis assessments & interventions, safety planning, and voluntary and involuntary hospitalizations including providing expert court testimony as needed.
- Oversee and support the planning and care coordination for hospital discharges, PRTF discharges, jail reintegration, and care coordination to / from any institutional care.
- Provide crisis services training to staff including field mentoring.
- Maintain documentation of all consultation and coordination activities. Ensure effective coordination of Liaison duties for clients entering and exiting State Hospital, PRTFs, and Jail reintegration.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partner agencies
- Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
Must meet the following criteria :Hold current Kansas licensure and credentialing as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) per Kansas Behavioral Science Regulatory Board (BSRB) requirements.Computer literacy, database management, and effective utilization of basic technologyExcellent organizational, critical thinking, and analytical skillsProficient in the English languagePass all required background checksPHYSICAL DEMANDS :

The ability to utilize telehealth platforms for virtual meetings is essential.

SALARY RANGE FOR THIS POSITION : Salary commensurate with experience and Kanza MHGC salary structure.
