Houston Labor & Delivery RN Job Details Location : Houston, TX 77054 (Texas Medical Center area) Healthcare Setting : Labor & Delivery Unit (35 beds, 3rd Floor Main Hospital) Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 9 / 1 / 2025 – End : 12 / 1 / 2025) Hours per Week : 36 Shift : 12-Hour Nights (7p-7a) Dress Code : Royal Blue Scrubs Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1950-$2000 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (American Heart Association preferred) Preferred : Experience with OR Circulation for Cesarean Sections, Placement of FSE and IUPC Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases Monitor maternal and fetal status using advanced clinical equipment (Hill-Rom birthing beds, Alaris IV pumps, GE core metrics FM, Panda warmers, CADD Solis epidural pumps, NOVI wireless FM) Assist with vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, and PACU recovery Perform antepartum care and testing, including continuous electronic fetal monitoring Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including anesthesia, neonatal, laborist, and hospitalist services Follow unit protocols for Pitocin, cervical ripening, magnesium sulfate, hydralazine, and labetalol administration Enjoy working in a hospital with a 13-bed Maternal Assessment Center for triage and 24 / 7 ancillary support.
