About the Role

The Maintenance Electrician is a union position. All duties are performed in a work-safe manner; plant safety rules are followed and individuals work as a team member. The prime objective of this position is to ensure the integrity and reliability of all plant equipment via timely, planned, thorough and consistent maintenance activities and inspections. The electrician is responsible for carrying out electrical / maintenance processes and PM program inspections throughout the Seattle Grinding Plant.

What You'll Accomplish

• Understand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies to assure that environment, health and safety are the first priority of the business.
• Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist the department as needed to improve EHS performance and results.
• Ensure safe practices (including coworkers, employees and contractors) in all areas of work.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
• Coordinate with assigned Foreman and / or other trades for completing projects and work orders efficiently.
• Maintain assigned equipment and tools for the purpose of ensuring availability in a safe operating condition.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
