Radiologic Technologist-Computed Tomography

Key Responsibilities :
Patient Interaction : Explain CT examination procedures to patients, ensure they are properly prepared, and provide clear instructions to ensure comfort and understanding during the process.
Clinical Procedure : Review clinical data on requisitions, assess patient medical history, and perform appropriate CT imaging procedures, ensuring the highest level of diagnostic quality.
Equipment Setup : Set up CT equipment and prepare the procedure room, ensuring that all necessary supplies, such as linens and medical equipment, are available and stocked.
Imaging : Operate the CT scanner to obtain diagnostic-quality images, manually adjust equipment settings, and analyze anatomical structures as needed for accurate results.
Contrast Administration : Administer intravenous contrast media with the use of power injectors, monitor patients for reactions, and provide immediate care when necessary.
Assistance with Sterile Procedures : Assist Radiologists during complex diagnostic procedures, such as biopsies, ensuring sterile techniques are followed.
Radiation Protection : Apply radiation safety principles, including shielding patients, selecting appropriate equipment settings, and using ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) techniques to minimize exposure.
Data Management : Ensure high-quality image delivery into the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System), resolve image exceptions, and maintain accurate records in the RIS (Radiology Information System).
Collaboration and Communication : Consistently demonstrate excellent communication skills with team members and patients. Uphold customer service standards and contribute to a positive team dynamic.
Documentation : Complete necessary documentation within the medical record and radiology information system, supporting both clinical and billing functions.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
Education : High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Certification & Licensure :
BLS certification (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT), with advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible.
Experience : Minimum of 2 year of experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital or clinical setting.
Skills & Abilities :
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated commitment to team collaboration and customer service excellence.
Willingness to obtain training for peripheral IV insertion.
Education : Associates Degree in Applied Science in Radiology.
Experience : Experience in a mobile unit setting or with specialized patient populations.
Location and Work Type :
On-site position at a medical center or hospital.
Potential for mobile unit work at various healthcare facilities.
Full-time, on-site role with occasional patient transport duties.

On-site position based in Michigan.
This is a 13-week contract with the potential for extension.
