Position Description

CGI has an immediate need for a Senior AWS Data Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. This role is located at a client site in Plano, TX. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Data Engineer to join our team onsite in Plano. This role focuses on developing automation tools and scripts for cloud-based data infrastructure, building ETL pipelines, and supporting scalable data solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Python, AWS, and Terraform, and will play a key role in driving strategic initiatives around big data, analytics, and public APIs. This position requires strong technical acumen, hands-on experience with modern data platforms, and the ability to lead and communicate effectively within cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

• Proficiency in Python for automation and data engineering tasks.
• Strong experience with ETL development and data ingestion from operational systems.
• Hands-on expertise in AWS services, especially CloudFormation, Lambda, and general AWS architecture.
• Solid understanding of Terraform and GitLab workflows.
• Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms.
• Familiarity with NoSQL, RDBMS, and dimensional modeling.
• Advanced SQL skills for data manipulation and analysis.
• Knowledge of metadata management and data modeling tools.
• Ability to evangelize and implement strategic technologies like public APIs, big data, and analytics.
• Strong communication skills and experience in team leadership or management
• Relevant certifications in AWS, Terraform, or Data Engineering are a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and related technologies.

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,100.00 - $137,100.00.
