American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) position in California requiring a CA RN license, BLS, NRP, and at least two years of NICU experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a community Level 3 NICU within an acute care hospital settingUnit has 14 beds and admits preemies, late preterm infants, infants with r / o sepsis, IDGDM, NAS, and some readmits but no surgical casesPatient ratios range from 1 : 1 to 1 : 3Utilizes Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry monitoring12-hour night shifts from 7p-7a with every other weekend requiredVentilators are used and run by respiratory therapy available 24 / 7Neonatologist or pediatrician available on call 24 / 7No floating requiredNavy blue scrubs requiredComplete a floor-specific orientation consisting of 3 shifts on the unitWork alongside a charge nurse and a multidisciplinary team including 24 / 7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy supportLab draws for neonates are performed in the unitMust pass pre-employment testing and a skills assessment during orientationCandidates must not have been employed by facilities associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past yearHoliday shifts are assigned based on the core rotationNICU is a locked unit for securityRole involves discharging patients home from NICU or transfer to pediatric units\n \n Requirements\n
Active and current CA RN license at the time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)Minimum of 2 years recent NICU nursing experience requiredCurrent certifications : BLS, NRP, and COVID vaccinationExperience using Cerner EMR preferredTwo professional references : one supervisor from the past 12 months and one supervisor or peer from the past 3 years\n Benefits\n
