About The Position

An established health system in Mason City, Iowa is seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible Hematology / Oncology Physician to step into a Medical Director leadership role. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to lead, inspire, and deliver compassionate care in a thriving cancer program.

📌 Job Description

Build and lead a future-focused Medical Oncology team in a newly renovated Cancer Center ($10M expansion) .

Foster a culture of excellence and empower colleagues.

Provide high-quality outpatient care with instant patient volume.

Collaborate with a comprehensive team of Hem / Onc, Rad Onc, APPs, and on-site specialists.

Participate in weekly tumor boards and advance program development.

🩺 Job Responsibilities

Oversee oncology service line operations and strategy.

Deliver direct oncology patient care with a manageable patient load to ensure work-life balance.

Mentor physicians, APPs, and staff.

Engage in survivorship and genetics programs.

Take minimal call (phone only, 1 : 4 rotation) with hospitalist team handling most inpatient needs.

Job Requirements

🎓 Qualifications

Board Eligible or Board Certified in Hematology / Oncology (ABIM or AOBIM).

Eligible for Iowa license or IMLC.

BLS, DEA, and CDS certifications required by start date.

Previous leadership experience preferred.

⏰ Working Hours

Full-time, primarily outpatient.

Minimal call requirements, strong hospitalist support.
