About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-Hour Nights

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : RN License Required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have :

1 year of experience with cardiovascular patient population

Ability to titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics

Capability to read and interpret cardiac strips

Description :

The position involves providing care to patients recovering from complex cardiac surgeries.

Common diagnoses include open heart, complex thoracic, and vascular patients.

Patients may require stabilization supported by advanced devices such as impella, IABP, CRRT, and ECMO.

Experience with common and advanced cardiac procedures is necessary.

Registered Nurses will support complex cases coming from various departments.

There will be no nurse aids or patient care technicians on the unit.

A charge nurse will be available on each shift.

All registered nurses are required to handle equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen.

Weekend and holiday requirements will be applicable.

Registered Nurses will float to all inpatient units, excluding specific areas.

The dress code requires navy blue scrubs.

Charting will be conducted using a specific electronic records system.

The work setting is an acute care environment with a trauma level designation.
