Role Description
We’re looking for a Seattle-based Cinematographer & Editor who loves both the technical and creative sides of filmmaking—someone who can capture cinematic visuals, edit compelling short-form content, and collaborate on new ideas. This is a freelance, hybrid contract role with the potential to grow into a long-term creative partnership.
You’ll help shape the visual tone of two interconnected creative brands, spanning music, media commentary, and narrative video.
Qualifications
- Film short-form or experimental video shoots (1–2-person crew)
- Edit videos for ongoing music and media commentary projects
- Collaborate on shot lists, lighting, and creative direction
- Manage footage, organization, and post-production workflow
- Handle basic color and sound finishing
- Operate cameras and lighting equipment for shoots
- Work closely with the creative lead to bring concepts to life
- Experience in video production, cinematography, or film production
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling and editing principles
- Skilled in camera operation (mirrorless or hybrid systems preferred)
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (DaVinci Resolve a plus)
- Familiarity with Frame.io , Canva , and Monday.com or similar tools
- Comfortable working collaboratively and on-site in Seattle
- Passion for experimental, indie, or narrative work
- (Optional) Comfortable appearing on camera or helping recruit local talent
- Familiarity with Asian media (anime, film, or games) is a plus
- Japanese or multilingual ability is a plus but not required
- Early- to mid-career filmmaker seeking consistent creative collaboration
- Excited about indie production and building a cohesive visual identity
- Enjoys flexible, idea-driven projects in a small studio environment
Compensation
💰 $200 – $400 per project (depending on scope and experience)
Possibility for an ongoing monthly partnership as the collaboration grows.
