Overview
Lead Engineer - Composite Design at GE Aerospace is a role focused on the mechanical design, manufacture, and delivery of composite hardware used in the development testing of the next generation of narrow body jet engines. You will be part of the Structures & Boosters team and contribute to advancing aviation technologies as part of an ongoing LEAN transformation.
This position offers the flexibility of an optional hybrid schedule once fully trained. The hybrid schedule consists of working in the office a minimum of 3 days per week with the option to work from home on other days, based on team / project needs.
Responsibilities
- Execute the design and analysis of assigned components or sub-assemblies using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements
- Provide technical guidance that influences outcomes for moderate complexity tasks
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned hardware consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Develop action plans, with guidance, to respond to issues and problems
- Recommend, with guidance, approaches to meet technical and program requirements
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews with internal and external customers
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering from an accredited university or collegeMinimum of 3 years of experience in a mechanical design and analysis engineering position, with at least 1 year in composites designLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
