Location : 8 Pikes Hill, Norway, ME

Department : Primary Care | MaineHealth Stephens Hospital

Schedule : Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM | Consistent Day Shift | 36 hours per week

Position Summary :

MaineHealth is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Service Specialist (PSS) to join our Primary Care Family Medicine team in Norway, Maine. In this key front-office role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients-supporting their care journey with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency. What You'll Do :

Greet and check in patients in a welcoming and timely manner

Schedule appointments, manage phone calls, and handle patient inquiries

Collect co-pays and verify insurance eligibility

Support referral processing and imaging / prior authorization coordination

Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health system

Collaborate with providers and clinical teams to ensure smooth office operations

Qualifications : Required :

Minimum 6 months of medical clerical or front-office healthcare experience

Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills

Comfort with technology and electronic health record (EHR) systems

Preferred :

Experience with referrals, imaging coordination, and prior authorizations

• Education : High school diploma or GED preferred.
• License / Certifications : N / A
• Experience : Six months of medical office experience required.
