We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and experienced senior HSE professional to support Life Sciences North America (LSNA) in one of two regional project portfolios (North Carolina and Greater Philadelphia market (PA / DE / NJ).

As part of our team, in this remit you will provide HSE support to the HSE Director for Life Sciences North America (LSNA). You'll serve as a business partner working with Client HSE and Senior Management stakeholders, and Jacobs Performance Unit VP's, HSE Directors, and Project Directors, Managers and Construction Managers - to lead HSE excellence and deliver projects and initiatives in a way to ensure no worker injuries or negative impacts to our client's business continuity. We'll ask you to support BeyondZero performance that is inclusive of the Line of Business' (LOB) vision and strategic plans, as well as provide overall leadership, management and direction to the Jacobs team and clients assigned.

We'll rely on you to take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm and for driving Jacobs' strategies and performance while supporting continuous improvement and building alliances with client leadership and Jacobs HSE team members and other stakeholders. You'll own and maintain open communication with the HSE Director for Life Sciences North America as well as Jacobs and client leadership, and peer LOB HSE team members to provide professional development and technical resources guidance, to ensure alignment and to assure consistent implementation of HSE process tools that support LOB HSE strategic plans and objectives. This position will have multi-site and multi-client responsibilities for all LSNA HSE initiatives related to the continuous improvement of HSE practices, compliance to corporate initiatives, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.

By establishing working relationships, you'll provide visible support and leadership to all client and LOB stakeholders (including offices and projects / programs) by providing interpretation, training, technical review and support, regulatory guidance, and governance oversight to ensure alignment and consistent implementation of the Jacobs HSE program. This key position will be the champion driving best practices and continuous improvement efforts for positive motivation, employee development and resource planning that meets or exceeds overall HSE business goals and objectives.

You will work on problems of technical and legal scope requiring critical thinking and interaction with internal and external technical professionals, along with individuals representing official agencies. You will exercise broad judgment within generally defined practices and policies, and you will be considered a primary subject matter expert on all HSE topics.

You'll be charged to support and / or lead incident notification, investigation and reporting processes, as well as facilitating injury case management and return to work process. You'll support the development of Jacobs project specific HSE plans, review subcontractor hazard assessments and deliverables, and participate as required in operational readiness reviews, monthly assessments, management system reviews, and / or other forums relevant to project and / or LOB success.

The travel anticipated with this role is up to 75 percent. Future project assignments may require additional travel within the US, and potentially North America.

Regional HSE Managers for Jacobs LSNA LOB require the ability to cater successfully to multiple task masters support of HSE staff in the field, leadership and vision for Project and Construction Managers and other field staff - in a supportive but directive environment to ensure project and subcontractor success, in a leadership style that role models and demonstrates a culture of inclusion and caring for our craft workforce stakeholders, and finally the development of a rapport, partnership, and a communication style which engenders confidence and trust with our clients. You must present a demonstrated understanding of and ability to communicate effectively with regulatory authorities, major customers, and senior executives for all stakeholders. This requires flexibility, excellent communication skills, empathy, commitment, and dedication to the delivery of a holistic approach which ensures workers go home safely every day. While administrative duties associated with a role such as this are many, to role model what's expected and the delivery of Jacobs BeyondZero culture, the real heavy lifting of this work is in the field where the work takes place and in developing effective relationships with the team members delivering it.

Here's what you'll need :

Professional certification as deemed appropriate and / or required by client specific circumstances.

A minimum of 20 years of demonstrated professional experience in a similar leadership role in managing construction health and safety, including managing staff of 10 or more direct reports

A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in managing construction projects in the Life Sciences arena

Experience with managing and conducting safety and leadership training

Ideally you'll have :

Bachelors degree in Safety, construction or other; or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Outlook and Power Point

Demonstrated interpersonal relations and personnel management skills

Working knowledge in applicable regulatory compliance, as well as all applicable federal, state and local agencies requirements

The base salary range for this position is $130,900.00 to $200,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
