  • Unit : 5T – 22-bed Adult Med / Surg Oncology Unit\n
  • Position Type : Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract\n
  • Contract Length : 13 weeks (option to extend)\n
  • Start Date : 10 / 1 / 2025\n
  • End Date : 12 / 31 / 2025\n
  • Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), 3 shifts / week\n
  • Weekly Hours : 36\n
  • Schedule : Weekdays, every other weekend, float and holidays as needed\n
  • Patient Ratio : 5-6 : 1\n
  • EMR : Meditech\n
  • Scrubs : Royal blue / white (not provided)\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active South Carolina RN license (or ability to obtain prior to start)\n
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical / Surgical RN experience\n
  • BCLS certification required\n
  • Proficient IV start skills\n
  • Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travel RNs welcome\n
  • Comfortable with high patient ratios and floating to PCU or other Med / Surg units\n
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)\n
  • Clean license and background required\n

    • \n\nMed / Surg RN Responsibilities\n \n

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med / Surg Oncology unit\n
  • Initiate and manage IVs, perform phlebotomy, and administer blood products\n
  • Care for patients with diverse diagnoses : wounds, sepsis, pneumonia, diabetes, COPD, chest pain, AKI, dialysis, oncology, and end-of-life care\n
  • Document and coordinate patient care using Meditech EMR\n
  • Float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or other Medical / Surgical units as needed\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services)\n
  • Participate in rapid response / code teams and follow isolation precautions\n
  • Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and patient safety standards\n
