Neuro stepdown experience required.

Strong critical thinking skills.

Description :

General Information :

Number of Beds : 30

22 Acute Care beds.

8 Stepdown beds.

Patient Ratios : 6 : 1 on Acute Care.

4 : 1 on Neuro stepdown.

Unit Staffing Description :

1 RN Charge oversees the entire unit.

1-2 Techs available.

A unit secretary is present.

Type of Equipment :

Acute Care side includes vital sign machines, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, and various drips.

Neuro stepdown includes Vapotherm, Bipap, Trachs, and titrating cardiac drips.

Documentation System :

Meditech.

Scheduling Requirements :

Weekend shifts are required.

Floating Policy :

Experienced nurses can float after orientation.

Patient Experience Requirements :

Bedside shift report is conducted.

Emphasis on personal connection.

Daily huddles are performed.

Certifications Required :

BLS for Acute Care.

ACLS for Neuro Stepdown.

Dress Code :

Staff can wear black, any shade of blue or grey.

Any color scrubs are permitted on Fridays.

Unit Guidelines / Policies :

Unit-specific policies and guidelines apply.

Awards / Recognition :

Programs for recognition include ICARE recognition, shout out boards, and employee of the month.
