Storage Administrator Senior

Overview

FIS Management Services, LLC seeks Storage Administrator Seniors in Jacksonville, FL to leverage specialized knowledge of FIS technologies to complete backup and recovery, data migration, storage allocation, connectivity and storage reporting requests. Utilize advanced knowledge of proprietary tools to create, remove and expand file systems and volumes. Apply the expertise with FIS technology to provide DASD and Tape administration and support. Leverage unique knowledge of proprietary methodologies to work with senior peers to develop change management procedures. Utilize specialized understanding of proprietary technologies to create and maintain documentation and present concepts during team meetings. Apply unique expertise of FIS tools to aid with system solution design. Leverage specialized knowledge of FIS methodologies to provide rotating 24x7 on-call support as well as weekend support.

Responsibilities

• Lead activities to determine mainframe storage requirements to contribute to the development of a comprehensive mainframe environment;
• Implement and monitor mainframe tools, techniques, and methodologies;
• Identify, react, and resolve incidents related to the mainframe enhancing storage performance;
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of current technical innovations and strategies in mainframe systems and storage;
• Work with IBM DASD and IBM VTS systems providing administration and support on DASD / Tape storage systems;
• Support CSM operations (Copy Services Manager), Disaster Recovery and data replication;
• Implement Storage Administration with Z / OS, DFSMS, ACS routines, DFHSM, VSAM and Catalog operations;
• Resolve space abends and support ICKDSF, ADRDSSU, IDCAMS and tape utilities;
• Perform Backup and restore operations, SMS changes, CDS reorgs, dasd and tape volume creation, initialization and reclaims, and Defrag operations;
• Manage VTS operations and tape management tools;
• Facilitate storage management reports.

Qualifications

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation : leading activities to determine mainframe storage requirements to contribute to the development of a comprehensive mainframe environment; implementing and monitoring mainframe tools, techniques, and methodologies; identifying, reacting, and resolving incidents related to the mainframe enhancing storage performance; maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of current technical innovations and strategies in mainframe systems and storage; working with IBM DASD and IBM VTS systems providing administration and support on DASD / Tape storage systems; supporting CSM operations (Copy Services Manager), Disaster Recovery and data replication; implementing Storage Administration with Z / OS, DFSMS, ACS routines, DFHSM, VSAM and Catalog operations; resolving space abends and supporting ICKDSF, ADRDSSU, IDCAMS and tape utilities; performing Backup and restore operations, SMS changes, CDS reorgs, dasd and tape volume creation, initialization and reclaims, and Defrag operations; managing VTS operations and tape management tools; and facilitating storage management reports.
