Minimum of 2 years of experience required.

Telemetry, ventilator management, and peripheral IV start experience required.

Previous travel assignment experience required.

License :

Registered Nurse licensure in Washington, D.C. (pending licenses accepted, but must have license prior to start date).

Certifications : BLS

ACLS

NIHSS

CCRN preferred

Must-Have :

Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

No on-call requirement; weekends included in rotation.

Must have proof of application for DC licensure at the time of submission.

Pre-approved time off must be no more than 8 days and scheduled to allow a full workweek.

Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Neuro ICU.

The role involves caring for adults and geriatric patients with various neurosurgical conditions.

Patient diagnoses may include brain tumors, strokes, and neurodegenerative disorders.

The nurse will utilize advanced equipment such as EVDs and ventilators.

Daily census on the unit is approximately 22 patients.

Patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1 : 2.

Nurses will also be responsible for administering emergency medications, monitoring ICP, and managing ventilator settings.

Cerner is the charting system used in this unit.

Gowns and other PPE will be required to comply with isolation precautions.

The unit includes interdisciplinary support from various medical professionals.
