Maintenance actions include, but are not limited to technical inspections, repair, calibrations / PMCS, and overhaul of medical equipment. Willingness and ability to travel up to 15 percent frequently as required. A minimum of 2 years of BMET Experience is required. Army GSS Proficiency is required. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work effectively within a team environment. Ability to speak, read, write and understand the English language. Familiarity with the Biomedical field and its’ concepts, practices and procedures. Work environment conditions may occasionally include exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, vibration, and risk of radiation. Regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and frequently exposed to working near moving mechanical parts. The work environment noise level is usually moderate. Occasionally required to climb or balance, taste, or smell. Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands or fingers, handle or feel, talk, or hear. Must occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds, regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, and frequently lift and / or move up to 10-25 pounds. Description
The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) - Level II performs operational and safety testing, maintenance and repairs on patient care equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Technical inspections of new, used or reconditioned medical equipment, repair of damaged medical equipment, and Overhaul of medical equipment.
Use of authorized Army Automated Systems including, but not limited to, the Defense Medical Logistics Shared Standard Support (DMLSS), the Standard Army Maintenance System-Enhanced (SAMS-E), Theatre Enterprise-Wide Logistics System (TEWLS), Global Combat Support System Army (GCSS-A), and other systems specifically authorized by the USAMMA M3D.
