Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Tax Accountant with a strong background in bookkeeping to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals and businesses, as well as managing bookkeeping tasks for various clients. This role requires a minimum of three years of experience in tax preparation, tax review and bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations while ensuring compliance with federal, state and local tax laws.

Ensure returns are accurate, complete and timely filed.

Conduct tax research and provide tax planning recommendations to clients.

Manage and maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts.

Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates.

Stay up-to-date with current tax laws and regulations.

Collaborate with other team members on various projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA licensure is preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in bookkeeping, tax preparation and tax review.

Proficiency in UltraTax CS software and accounting software (e.g., Accounting CS, QuickBooks).

Proficiency in Google Workspace.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
