Speech Language Therapist

Pinnacle Health & Rehab at North Berwick is seeking a part time Speech Language Therapist to join our therapy team.

New graduates are welcome!  Supervision available for CFY.

Responsibilities include :

• Meet with the Interdisciplinary team, residents and families as needed
• Discuss therapy procedures and equipment with resident
• Under a physician's order, performs therapy within scope of practice
• Evaluates current cognitive, communicative and swallowing status and develops individualized / measurable treatment goals and interventions as appropriate to resident's condition, diagnosis, and response to treatment.
• Plans and implements a comprehensive and individualized speech / language pathology treatment plan.
• Instructs resident and caregivers to assist in achieving treatment goals.
• Terminates treatment as appropriate in relation to resident's condition, diagnosis, functional performance, outcome expectations and discharge criteria.
• Maintain resident record and documentation.
• Communicates frequently and effectively with others involved in the resident's care including, treatment plans, progress, and discharge planning.

Education / Experience :

1.  Graduation from an approved program of speech, hearing science and language development.

2.  Must hold valid Maine State licensure in Speech / Language Pathology Services.

3.  Experience in areas of adult neurological communicative disorders with emphasis in aphasiology and dysphagia rehabilitation preferred.
