Radiologic Technologist 1 PRN

Description

The New Milford Hospital is seeking a PRN Radiologic Technologist!  We are GROWING and are now part of Northwell Health.  Shifts are Evening / Nights - 8 hours Variable from 2p-10p, Weekdays as well as weekends. Pay $44.31+ robust shift differentials.

Summary :

This PRN position will be used for a current PRN employee at Danbury. This will free up a PRN slot in Danbury and give us a PRN at New Milford. The current employee is only working hours at New Milford.

Responsibilities :

1. Greet patient, introduces self, and checks patient identification.

2. Reviews patient script and Cerner requisition to ensure the appropriate exam is being performed.

3. Acquires appropriate history from patient that is pertinent to the exam being performed.

4. Explains procedure and answers any questions the patient has regarding the test.

5. Follows department protocol for exam and ensures the safety & comfort of the patient.

6. Shields patient according to department protocol and follows ALARA standards.

7. Produces and review high quality x-rays for interpretation by the Radiologist.

8. Interacts professionally with patient and family.

9. Attends annual hospital review & departmental in-services meetings. Practices medicine & surgical aseptic procedures. Assists Radiologist with invasive procedures. Works well with other modalities to provide complete patient care.

10. May provide clinical instruction to prospective radiographers to instill duties of a radiologic technologist in a health care facility. May evaluate a students' ability to perform procedures & ensures student attains objectives of each competency.

11. Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate systems and in accordance with department policies and standards for interpretation in a timely manner.

12. Maintains clinical competency and demonstrates proficiency to work in assigned patient care area(s).

13. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Information :

Required : High School Diploma and minimum of zero to six months job related experience. State of Connecticut Radiographer License, ARRT graduate from a 2 year accredited RT program , ARRT certification.

Manual : significant manual skills / motor coord & finger dexterity

Physical Effort : Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment : Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
