Overview
Manager, Content Programming Strategy & Operations, Nonfiction & Live Entertainment — Los Angeles. Netflix is seeking a Manager to join the Content Programming Strategy & Operations (CPS&O) team, supporting Nonfiction (Documentaries, Unscripted), Live Entertainment, and adjacent Original Nonfiction areas (e.g., Podcasts). The role reports to the Director, CPS&O - Nonfiction & Live Entertainment, with partnership across Content, Finance, Business Affairs, Data Science, Product, and other cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead deal analysis to support content negotiations from deal pitch / sourcing through renewal.
- Spearhead special projects for senior Netflix leaders and develop recommendations on key programming and operational issues, particularly in new business development areas.
- Scope, launch and lead cross-functional working teams and workflows related to evaluating or operationalizing live sports-related projects.
- Lead performance analysis of launched titles and deals, including audience deep dives and data analysis, for renewal decisions.
- Monitor portfolio-level performance and provide recommendations on content investment priorities.
- Provide strategic support on programming, both on an individual title basis and across the entire content slate.
- Develop deep understanding of industry trends, competitor slates, and whitespace programming opportunities.
- Provide mentorship, thought partnership and guidance to junior executives.
- Partner closely with Content, Finance, Business Affairs, Data Science, Product, and other cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
7-10+ years of relevant work experience; MBA preferred.Deep passion for our core offering (unscripted and documentary shows and films), live entertainment, and emerging adjacencies (e.g., podcasts, short form).Experience in entertainment, investment banking, management consulting, or media-focused technology.Experience conducting quantitative (modeling) and qualitative analysis; ability to drive insight and results from data.Experience in content acquisition / licensing deal analysis and / or direct commercial deal-making is a plus.Project management and cross-functional leadership experience.Excellent communication and presentation skills with a proven record of presenting complex analysis to executives clearly and concisely.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment; highly curious with integrity and ethics.Strong proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint; Google Workspace experience a plus.Compensation & Employment Details
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary with no bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. The salary range for this role is $160,000 – $470,000, determined based on market indicators and candidate experience.
