Overview

Pure Barre Woodbridge is looking for a dynamic, confident individual that is a high performer with a passion for fitness to join our team. A passion for Pure Barre and prior knowledge of the brand is a plus, but not required. A background in dance, cheerleading, or fitness is helpful, but not required. Musicality and the ability to lead a room of 20+ people are a must. If you are a good fit for the job, you will also be friendly, reliable, highly skilled at multitasking, have excellent communication skills, and be genuine and passionate about helping others.

The Lead Teacher is an exemplary Pure Barre Teacher who ensures that all instructional staff within the studio are abiding by brand standards.

Lead Teacher Qualifications

  • Certified Pure Barre Classic teacher (See Table A)
  • At least 1 year of teaching Pure Barre
  • Deep understanding and alignment with the Pure Barre methods
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Club Ready software
  • Up-to-date CPR / AED training
  • Demonstrate anatomical knowledge and focus on safety and alignment
  • Pleasant, professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills
  • Experience teaching new and veteran clients in all class formats
  • Professional and effective communication skills
  • Proven public speaking skills
  • Proficiency in helping with sales
  • In-depth understanding of the benefits of Pure Barre and what sets Pure Barre apart from other boutique fitness studios
  • Willingness to evolve with new developments in the fitness industry, specifically related to Pure Barre
  • Team player with evidence of strong leadership skills
  • Passion for learning and willingness to attend continuing education trainings and seminars as offered by Pure Barre Corporate
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Ability to implement and streamline new procedures in a diverse environment
  • Ability to recognize areas of improvement and pro-actively communicate with management

Lead Teacher Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Minimum Requirements :

    • Attend monthly webinar facilitated by the Pure Barre Corporate Training Team (or watch the recording)

  • Study and complete monthly resources available via Lead Teacher Schoox folder (under Content)
  • Implement actionable take-home with studio team
  • Effectively communicates messaging and updates from the Corporate Training Team to the studio team
  • Teach approximately 6-8 classes each week (formats varied based on length since studio opened)
  • Regularly teaches Breaking Down the Barre, Breaking Down Reform (if applicable), Pure Foundations, and corporate-released Intensive Classes
  • Assist trainees in successfully completing the test-out video process (clear guidance provided)
  • Review teachers quarterly on each class format, according to corporate rubrics, and meet one-on-one to discuss feedback
  • Lead quarterly team meetings with all teachers at the studio
  • Assist management with studio schedule and ensure class types, times, levels and instructors scheduled maximize occupancy and client satisfaction
  • Manage sub requests and adjust schedule accordingly
  • Ensure that all images posted on social media reflect proper form and safety standards and align with Pure Barre standards
  • Regularly inspect equipment for damage or wear and make recommendations to management about updates
  • Stay up to date with and implement Pure Barre educational standards at all times
  • Track and review the other instructors for proficiency and performance quarterly according to Pure Barre Corporate rubrics
  • Provide needed mentorship to instructors to ensure their teaching is up to Pure Barre's standards
  • Provide Pure Barre instruction to private classes as requested by clients
  • Must be skilled at proper and safe use of a variety of equipment during each class, including, but not limited to, hand weights, ankle / wrist weights, platforms, resistance tubing and mats
  • Visually inspect the equipment prior to the beginning of class to ensure equipment is in good working order and safe to use
  • Participate in networking / community / client appreciation events as needed and studio promotions to generate new business
  • Maintain honesty and integrity
  • Any other duties as assigned

  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, work with fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs. and be able to move / push equipment as needed
  • Visual acuity required
  • Prolonged standing
  • Must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with others both one-on-one and in front of groups
  • Ability to think and process information quickly, clearly and accurately
  • Strong reasoning ability; able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written or oral instructions; able to deal calmly and logically with problems and people, even under pressure
