Centralized Accounting Manager
Performs and leads centralized accounting functions for multiple campus locations, including month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes; preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations; compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX); and special projects. Provides ad hoc and other accounting related support to the campus locations as needed.
Salary Range : $65,000 - $80,000

Responsibilities
Manages the centralized campus accounting function for two to four campus locations, serving as the liaison between the Home Office accounting team and the various operational teams at the campuses, ensuring that all activity is recorded timely, accurately and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP")Prepares and reviews journal entries for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for assigned campus locations, including the management of required accruals for campus related activityMaintains and updates monthly accounting schedules, and other internal reportingCommunicates with operational teams at the campuses or other leaders to gain an understanding of variances between actual and prior year or budgeted results.Prepares and / or reviews monthly variance analysis explanationsCoordinates the distribution of routine financial reports to management and campus support teamsPrepares and reviews various balance sheet reconciliations (including researching and resolving outstanding items)Prepares financial analysis and other ad hoc requests as requiredPerforms a variety of special projects as neededSupports annual and quarterly audits (both internal and external)Understands and enforces established policies and proceduresContinuously improves compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)Other duties as assignedQualifications
Education / Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)Minimum three - five (3-5) years general or public accounting experience (required)Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP (required)Working knowledge of SOX (preferred)CPA or CMA certification / candidate (preferred)Skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlinesAnalytical skills required to identify and resolve problems effectivelyCustomer service, communication and organizational skillsInterpersonal communication skills both verbal and written including the ability to deal with a variety of personalities in a professional manner.Knowledge of PC software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.Experience with GL accounting systems.
