ABC7 Los Angeles is seeking a dynamic and motivated general assignment reporter dedicated to covering Orange County – a vibrant and diverse area home to more than 3 million people. Based in Orange County, this self-starting journalist will play a vital role in reporting on and representing this important area.Qualified candidates must be great storytellers, content creators and collaborators who know how to present active and engaging live shots and be endlessly creative when it comes to adding innovative ideas for their stories on all platforms.Ability to shoot, edit and publish is a plus.

This role is considered on-site in our Orange County Bureau.

Responsibilities :

• Create unique and shareable stories for television, digital, social and streaming.
• Collaborate on content and new ideas,handle live breaking news in the field across platforms.
• Build meaningful relationships with leaders, newsmakers and community organizations in Orange County
• Develop sources to generate unique or exclusive story ideas
• Active use of social media for promotion and news gathering.
• Participate in community and station public events

The hiring range for this position in Orange County, CA is $120,000 to $145,000 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and / or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
