Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is seeking a CNC Set Up Operator in partnership with a prominent client in the Endicott, NY area. This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC Mills in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment. A strong attention to detail, ability to read blueprints, and experience working in a cellular manufacturing setup are essential.

CNC Set Up Operator Summary

Shift : 1st

Salary : $22-$28 per hour based on experience.

CNC Set Up Operator Job Duties :

• Read and interpret blueprints, travelers, planning sheets and work instructions to determine proper cutting tools, speeds, and feed rates.
• Load programs into machines, ensuring all tool and process parameters align with specifications.
• Start and set up machines based on set up sheets, ensuring you are checking displays to detect any malfunctions.
• Run and perform first article and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.
• Regularly inspect workpieces using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Generate or edit part programs using Espree CAM and Fanuc controls to improve efficiency, cost, and quality.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of feeds, speeds, and proper cutting tool applications.
• Maintain the ability to operate multiple machines in a cellular manufacturing environment.
• Assist in other machining operations such as CNC lathes, press brakes, stamping presses, or welding as needed.
• Enter commands to create, retrieve, and store programs in machine computer memory.
• Accurately complete all required production documentation, including counts, scrap, and time logs.
• Operate machinery safely and report any safety hazards, machine malfunctions, or equipment issues immediately.
• Mount and align cutting tools.
• Change cutting tools, make necessary machine adjustments, and measure parts to ensure conformance to blueprints.
• Monitor machine functions, such as cutting depth, feed rate, and coolant flow, to ensure quality and prevent damage.
• Guide and assist other employees in machine operation and setup when needed.

• Stop machine and adjust settings and tools as needed to maintain accuracy and optimal cutting conditions.
• Load and unload parts, ensuring correct orientation of the product.
• Perform machine maintenance as required.
