An Minnesota-based services organization is looking to add a Safety Specialist to their dynamic team. As a vital resource for the site's employees, the Safety Specialist will conduct audits, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting investigations, training staff, and driving process improvements to maintain a safe and efficient operational environment.
About the Opportunity
- Shift : 5pm-3 : 30am
- Schedule : 4 shifts per week
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Identify and inform management of compliance issues, risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of , weekly, and monthly auditsFacilitate investigation processMaintain required paperwork to comply with the organization's and regulationsEnter Information in internal database in a timely mannerPerform observations & auditsTrain and assist others (Area Managers, team members, etc.) to complete their responsibilities (Audits, Follow Rules, etc.)Perform specific training as required by the ManagerMay have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other related activities depending on the business unit and locationParticipate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completionQualifications & Experience
Minimum of 1 years in an Environmental & Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) related field or bachelor's degree in related fieldKnowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacityExperience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and / or personnel issues in the work placeAbility to communicate and needs to all levels of the organizationCalm demeanor in situationsAvailable to work flexible shifts including days, nights and / or weekendsPreferred
Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in a related fieldStrong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skillsExperience leading and managing a team Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential concerns and conduct job hazard and job analysesExperienced in response and currently holds and certificates Experience in Worker's case managementPassion for safetyExperience in healthcare or industrial settingsExperience with OSHA regulationsExperience with Workers Compensation
