Position Scope and Organizational Impact

Moss' Solar Electrical Field Project Engineers assist the Electrical Assistant and Electrical Project Manager in managing large utility-scale solar projects. Responsibilities include supervising contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, and scheduling. A positive attitude and behavior are essential, as interaction with staff at all levels occurs in a dynamic environment.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage crew activities, reporting, tool connex, material acquisition, and logistics.
  • Coordinate project start-up activities including reviewing owner contracts, developing checklists, mobilization, subcontractor & vendor selection, critical issues identification, and schedule development.
  • Expedite materials by developing submittal logs, fabrication and delivery schedules, and coordinating storage and owner-furnished materials.
  • Coordinate construction activities, including pre-construction meetings, schedule updates, quality inspections, safety compliance, and site logistics.
  • Assist with project administration tasks such as contract management, meetings, documentation, and compliance.
  • Track project costs, process payments, and monitor back charges and reports.
  • Support change order processes, including scope review, scheduling impacts, and negotiations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
  • 6 months to 1 year of solar internship or experience as a project engineer or assistant project engineer.
  • Proficiency with construction project management software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interfacing with various stakeholders.
  • Basic financial skills required.
