Join our team as a Mobile Dental Care Assistant!

This exciting role involves traveling to long-term care facilities to assist in providing essential dental care under the direction of a dentist. You'll play a key part in maintaining clinical records, ensuring the cleanliness of medical equipment, and enhancing the overall patient experience.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Support the dentist with patient care in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate and updated clinical records and medical histories using electronic medical records.
  • Confirm the integrity of all documentation and ensure patient odontograms are updated after each visit.
  • Efficiently manage the passing of instruments and supplies during procedures.
  • Keep the treatment area clean and well-maintained through proper evacuation, washing, and drying techniques.
  • Collaborate with the branch office for scheduling to optimize dental services and reporting.
  • Assist with patient flow during facility visits, including helping with wheelchair transport.
  • Prepare daily production reports and manage the posting of dental charges promptly.
  • Oversee the care, cleaning, and maintenance of dental equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Conduct inventory audits for dental supplies, place orders, and manage resource utilization to minimize waste.
  • Complete preventive maintenance requirements according to manufacturer guidelines to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Assist in educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques.
  • Demonstrate excellent multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and outstanding customer service.
  • Follow OSHA and HIPAA guidelines at all times while ensuring patient confidentiality.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, family members, providers, and staff.
  • Respond to patient inquiries promptly and document interactions in the EMR system.
  • Be prepared for travel as this role requires up to 100% travel.
  • Support compliance program elements, including training completion and reporting any policy violations.
  • Adapt positively to change and take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience as a Medical / Dental Assistant is preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and valid car insurance.
  • Completion of a two-step Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test is required.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination is preferred, along with a state radiation license or certificate.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and medical terminology is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to follow directions and be responsive to patients' and doctors' needs.
  • Physical Demands :

    This role requires a full range of motion, including manual dexterity, standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 pounds or more). You may need to assist in pushing patients in wheelchairs. Clear vision and hearing are necessary, as well as the ability to work under stress and during irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids may be a part of the job.
