Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the month-end close process, financial reporting, and risk management, while also leading and mentoring the finance team to achieve organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls throughout all financial processes.
- Lead the implementation of POC (Percent of Completion) revenue recognition and ensure proper application.
- Conduct monthly financial analysis and reporting to provide insights into performance and variances.
- Manage and maintain financial systems, including ERP and Deltek Vantage Point, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate financial risks.
- Provide team leadership and mentorship to finance staff, including performance evaluations and ongoing training.
- Prepare forecasts and budgets, and assist in strategic financial planning for the organization.
- Ensure compliance with state sales tax regulations and reporting.
- Collaborate with FP&A teams to drive financial performance and optimize resources.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.Strong understanding of construction accounting, including job costing, progress billing, andpercentage-of-completion methods.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar financial management role.Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.Experience with financial systems and ERP software, particularly NetSuite and Deltek Vantage Point.Proven track record in managing the close process and POC revenue recognition.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.Excellent leadership and mentoring skills with experience in performance management.Ability to communicate effectively with executive management and stakeholders.For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
